About me

I earned my PhD in Biomedical Science in 2013 at the National Autonomous University of Mexico understanding the role of astrocytes in synaptic plasticity and memory. After that, I did a Postdoctoral Research at the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience where I worked on the role of astrocytes in visual processing in ferrets. Since 2017, I started as an associate professor at ENES Juriquilla in UNAM where we are studying neuron-glia interactions and its role in cognitive functions and sensory process in physiological and pathological conditions. For this, we use behavioral, electrophysiology and pharmacological approaches as well as calcium imaging in freely moving animals.
