Sobre mi

The study of glial cells has been my passion since my Ph.D. I started with patch-clamp recordings in astrocytes and studied the functional expression of potassium channels and neurotransmitter receptors. I continued with these studies in the calyx of Held synapse, an excellent model to investigate about neuron-glial communication during my postdoc. Later, I returned to Mexico and our team is currently studying the dysfunction of glial cells in murine models of anorexia and autism. Additionally, we started with the Organization of the Symposium on Physiology and Pathology of Neuroglia. This platform keeps growing and the pandemic was a trigger to reach globally in our last event (2020). We cordially invite you to participate and interact with leading persons in the field of Neuroglia through the Symposium.
